The "session" is the cornerstone of the software. A session can be created by acquering pictures from a camera, or by digitalizing a bunch of pictures or documents through a scanner, or by scanning a folder or an entire drive.

Just After Shot is not an album software, sessions can be removed when the user has finished with the organization and backup. But sessions can be kept for quick access.

The program produces a set with seven parameters of the sapatial Helmert transformation valid for an specific area, with which then arbitrary coordinates of the area can be transformed from one reference system into another with high accuracy. The seven transformation parameters are computed with a set of individual identical points. Those are points with known coordinates in both reference systems. For the computation at least three identical points must be present. In practice you will be anxious to use more identical points than those three necessities. Cartesian coordinates or geographical coordinates with ellipsoidal height using the ellipsoid dimensions are suitable. Identical measuring points of higher order can be usually inquired or referred by the official institutions for measurement. The necessary ellipsoid half-axis are available in the program for the selection from lists. There are altogether to determine seven parameters, i.e. three translations, three rotations and a scale constant. The parameters are calculated by the compensation according to the method of the smallest squares (L2 norm, Helmert transformation). Therefore must be dissolved a formula system with seven equations and seven unknown quantities. The coordinates of the identical points are tested intensively on outliers and deviations by different statistic procedures. The quality of the computed seven parameters of the Helmert transformation is documented by a cleavage matrix and by the computation of the middle, maximum and root mean square (RMS) deviations. The seven parameters are presented in the three most usual standards. Those are the Coordinate Frame Rotation, the Position Vector Transformation and the European Standard ISO 19111.

ORTWIN is a program for the state-wide inquiry of the localities in Germany. It finds postal zip codes, telephone pre selections, coordinates, it performs perimeter searches and distance calculations. The program determines municipal codes, local center points, car license codes, topographic maps and more. It arranges localities hierarchically into the structures federal country, administrative district, rural district, town, municipality, local quarter and domicile. In a radius around a place or around a postal code area covered localities and postal areas can be clearly represented by a comfortable perimeter search. They can also be arranged in a list, stored as a file and printed. For the local inquiries and perimeter searches a data base with more than 60.000 geo coded localities is available. The topographical maps of different standards, required for a project, can be determined by the complaint of known parameters or by the direct selection from overview graphics and from sorted lists. By the investigation of topographical records on the basis of known places, a data base with more then 60.000 places and residential districts is available. The program TOPOWIN calculates with Gauss Krueger coordinates and Geographic Coordinates refering to the Potsdam Datum (Bessel ellipsoid with central point Rauenberg). It also works with UTM coordinates and UTMRef coordinates in the NATO standard, which refer to the datum ETRS89 (GRS80 / WGS84, geocentric).

STL Import for Solid Edge is a Stereolithography (.stl) file import add-in for Solid Edge®. This plug-in gives Solid Edge the ability to import geometric data from ASCII and Binary STL files.

STL Import for Solid Edge reads polygon mesh data stored in STL files and imports it into Solid Edge. A polygon mesh in a STL file is comprised of a set of triangular faces. STL Import for Solid Edge creates trimmed planar surfaces for each triangle/quad and knits them together to create a body. If the polygon mesh is closed (i.e. it does not contain boundary edges) then STL Import for Solid Edge will create a closed body feature, otherwise an open surface will be created.

STL Import for Solid Edge is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Solid Edge and adds a new submenu called "STL Import for Solid Edge" to the Solid Edge Applications menu.

The STL File Format

The STL file format is the Rapid Prototyping industry's standard data transmission format and is the format required to interact with stereolithography machines. Stereolithography files contain solids which are made up of 3 sided facets. STL files may be ASCII or binary data, although binary is far more common due to the resulting size of the CAD data when saved to the ASCII format. A STL file describes a raw unstructured triangulated surface by the unit normal and vertices (ordered by the right-hand rule) of the triangles using a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system.
